We took our new rescue dog, Quinn, a 69-lb lab-mix, to Heartland Ranch USA for the two-week training bootcamp to get him socialized and help him overcome intense shyness and fear-reactivity. My confidence started with my initial inquiry over the phone, when Mark took the time to truly listen and ask thoughtful questions about our dog and how their program works. That was already a solid start—the first clear indication that I could trust this place. Shortly after, I visited the facilities in person and was deeply impressed with both the setup and the impeccable cleanliness.
It is amazing what Mark and his team accomplished with our dog in just two weeks. In fact, I started seeing progress within the first couple of days through the daily video and photo updates Mark sent. This bootcamp far exceeded our expectations. Heartland Ranch offers the highest quality boarding and training I have ever seen. The dogs stay inside the actual home space—not in a separate kennel building or dark, isolated crates. They have several beautifully arranged play areas, and the dogs are constantly cared for. But it is the heart, patience, and thought that goes into Mark's training approach that stands out the most. You can feel how much love and hard work goes into this program.
In just two weeks, our dog made remarkable progress. Moving from a place of deep anxiety and growling at strangers (both people and dogs), he learned to relax and coexist with everyone at the ranch. He was playing with other dogs and even jumping into the kiddie pools. During the second week, Mark brought us in for training sessions as well, giving us the exact tools and confidence we need to succeed at home.
Our dog came back home yesterday, and the change is already remarkable. On a short test-walk this morning, our neighbor's dog—whom he used to bark at aggressively—happened to be sitting unleashed out front. Our dog didn't react at all. No growling, no lunging, just a happy, relaxed walk. Wow—what else can I say? We know consistency is key moving forward, and we are committed to continuing Quinn’s training, but it is easy to stay motivated when the results are this immediate. We are so grateful. We highly, absolutely recommend Heartland Ranch USA!

Highly recommend heartland ranch. My dog loved this place and enjoyed his time. Mark was amazing, he would send us updates every night and it looked like our dog was living it up. He had so much fun in the back yard roaming around and playing with the other dogs, I think his favorite part was getting wet in the pool, it was his Disney land, as you can see in the photos. He came home so tired, took him a couple days to recover. I will definitely book my boy for future stays at heartland, thank you mark for taking such good care of my boy.

I have been taking the pups to Heartland Ranch for 5 years. They love it over there. Mark is awesome with Dak, Zeek and Tinkerbell. As pet owners we feel safe there. Accommodations are top notch and always excited to spend time there. 🐶🦴

Heartland does an amazing job with our dog! He’s stayed here twice so far and it feels more like a camp than a boarder. It’s spacious, homey, and the team is very involved, communicative, and supportive. Our dog got to run around a bunch, cool off in a pool, and we received several videos of him over the course of his stay. 100% recommend!

Absolutely love Heartland Ranch. We looked at boarding facilities throughout El Paso and this is the only place that I would trust to take care of my dogs. Mark (the owner) and his team are very professional, king, and really like dogs. When we got to El Paso I requested a tour of the boarding area and was blown away by how much his staff cares. The suites are super cute and clean if your dogs like the extra bit of comfort. If you're looking for a boarding place where your dogs will be loved like family, this is it. My two dogs are super excited when we arrive on site. When we pick them up after traveling, they are wore out. 10/10 recommend this place for boarding.

We have been happy with Heartland Ranch for our dog Luna's boarding for several years now, but their care was never more valuable than this past Christmas. We were delayed in getting home by several days, and hadn't sent extra meds with Luna, but Mark went above and beyond to pick up a prescription for her so that she didn't miss a dose. Can't recommend Heartland highly enough!

I have had a wonderful experience with Mark and Heartland Ranch every time. I no longer live in El Paso but will travel from San Antonio every time I need to board my dog Ronan. The experience that Mark has makes me that much more comfortable leaving my XL American Bully with him. Ro loves it and comes home tired every time.
After also participating in the dog training that he offers Ronan came home a brand new dog. The compliments I receive regarding his training remind me that I made the right choice in trainer and investing in my dog. I am definitely going to rebook for a refresher program in the future.

Just boarded my two boys for nine days, and they came home exhausted and so happy! Mark and his family were kind, sent pictures of my pups, and their home is a dogs dream! I had so much peace of mind knowing they were taken care of at Heartland Ranch! We will definitely be back!

Heartland Ranch boarding services exceeded our expectations. First, we have never seen a pet boarding place so beautiful as Heartland Ranch. Mark and his staff are truly professionals that definitely show their love and care for pets. We left our pet at the Ranch for more than two weeks, our Bella is in need of medical attention and Mark did a fantastic job. We honestly recommend Heartland Ranch for all boarding and training needs. We will definitely use their boarding services in a near future.

We recently boarded our 14 year old dog at Heartland Ranch for the first time and had an amazing experience. They were able to accommodate all of her dietary restrictions as she is on medicated food and insured she was given her daily medication. On top of the amazing care they also sent pictures every other day. I highly recommend boarding with Heartland Ranch and will continue to board when traveling.

I left my dog Tulip at Heartland Ranch for a week, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! They took such amazing care of her. You can really tell they love what they do. I don’t usually trust anyone else to look after Tulip, but I decided to give Heartland Ranch a try, and I’m so glad I did.

Mark at Heartland Ranch is outstanding. We first met him about 10 months ago when I was looking for a trainer for our two new Blue Tick puppies. After interviewing five other trainers, Mark stood out as completely transparent, skilled, and genuinely dedicated to what he does.
He invited us to tour the facilities and took as much time as we needed to feel comfortable with training and boarding our newest family members. Since then, our dogs have received countless compliments on their good behavior, which speaks volumes about the quality of Mark’s training.
We’ve also boarded them several times since their training, and it’s the first time in over 30 years of boarding our animals that I have absolutely no worries leaving them in someone’s care. Our dogs actually get excited as soon as they realize they’re going to Heartland Ranch.
If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and runs an honest, caring operation, I can’t recommend Mark and Heartland Ranch enough.

We brought our 7 month old Australian Shepard to Mark for the two week training session. We had nick named him the devil dog as he was so wild and crazy. The change was remarkable! Mark addressed all of his issues in a firm yet loving way. He is the doggie whisperer for sure. We are so grateful.

We had an amazing experience with Mark and Mildred for both training and boarding. They listened to our goals, created an easy plan we could follow at home, and sent thoughtful updates with photos while our pup BLUE stayed with them. The facility is clean and calm, their handling is gentle but effective, and the results speak for themselves—loose-leash walking, better recall, and a much more relaxed dog. We felt totally at ease leaving our pup in their care. Five stars without hesitation!

Heartland Ranch USA completely changed our dog Jax's life. Before coming here, he struggled with severe anxiety, and we were so worried about his future. Mark and his team not only cared for him, they truly understood him. We were invited to be part of the training process, and it was amazing to watch Jax's confidence grow each day. Dropped off my boy Austin this morning and even though he didn't want to go without me Heartland has sent photos and updates on his first day. He has never been around other dogs before and I was worried but Mark has assured me they are having no issues and he is doing very well. Yeah! Thanks Heartland!
UPDATE: Picked up my baby and I could tell he enjoyed his stay with Heartland but he was ready to come home. I got a full report on activities and happenings during his stay. Mark gave me updates when I asked and even sent photos of Austin having fun! Next time I have a need for a fun vacation place for Austin, I'll be calling Heartland!

Heartland Ranch is the best place to board your fur baby. Mark is amazing and always answers text messages and sends pics. I know Annie is well taken care of there. She always looks so happy playing with her new friends.

My dog has aggression issues with other dogs so I was nervous to board her but she does really well here. The Heartland Ranch team takes really good care of her. She is kept separate from the other dogs and they play with her. They were also very accommodating when we were running for a drop off. Can’t recommend it enough!

Mark is awesome. He treats the dogs amazingly, they get to run around and play together, and get great rooms. I was very nervous leaving my dog alone for the first time but he had such a great time and was very well taken care of. Thank you Heartland Ranch! Will definitely be back.

We have trusted Heartland ranch with our pup here regularly for a year now and will continue to bring her here for as long as we can! When we have week-long work trips, month-long vacations, or just a short weekend in New Mexico, we know our dog is safe, healthy, and happy staying here!
Having our dog stay here has also helped with her anxiety and socialization! It's great getting photos and videos of Bunny playing with her friends, or cuddling up in the evening with a treat.

I only being an advance searcher of a place to keep my 27 yr old Morgan Mare, I was impressed. Sally is a wonderful person to talk to.She was informative and just seems like a honest and basically a great person. My search was fruitful. When I do make the move with my Mare, this is the first place I am coming to.

This team is great! I had no worries leaving my dog with them. He even sent me a few pictures! My dog was tired when he got home, but tired like he had played well! We live a few hours away but it was WORTH it!

Training our dog at Heartland Ranch was the best money ever spent. Marvel, our dog, was a very anxious and scared dog before training with Mark. He's come back so brave and obedient. I am very hesitant as to wear my dogs stay, but Mark gave us a tour of his facility and we got to see how the dogs are treated, and I must say I think Marvel misses Mark and playing with all the other dogs. Marvel can now be around other dogs and go on walks without freaking out and that is all thanks to Marks training! I will be boarding my dogs with them in a few months and I have now doubts they will be taken care of as if they were their dogs! Such a great experience taking our dog here!

Mark and his wife at Heartland Ranch took great care of my dog Conor. They pretty much welcome the dogs into their home. This place is not your typical business where the priority is profit. We’ve used Heartland Ranch on several occasions. Mark is wonderful. Trained two of our dogs and he’s always available to take our calls for questions. The dogs have boarded multiple times and it’s clean and they don’t come home stressed like they did at other locations. We can go away knowing they are in great hands!

Barbie our poodle mix had a great 10 days at the Ranch. Mark sent texts and photographs of Barbie. She enjoyed the outdoor play area which is made of turf and shade canopies. She seemed very happy here during her stay. The facility is well kept and accommodating. We will board her again in the future.

Great experience here! Unlike most boarding places that are concrete and depressing, this one is set up with cozy living spaces for the dogs with plenty of space for play time. The owners took great care of my dog and I know she had a good time because she was snoring 5 minutes after we got home.

We dropped our 1.5 year old Great Dane, Dorothy, off for three weeks of training. We live in Albuquerque so this was not a decision we made lightly. We adopted Dorothy from a shelter and she had some really severe reactive behaviors. Before we took her to see our friends at Heartland Ranch, we were barley able to take her on walks. She reacted to dogs, farm animals, people, cars, trucks, bikes, school buses, and hot air balloons. She is the sweetest dog but REALLY needed to improve on a leash. With a lot of hard work, Mark was able to help Dorothy learn better leash skills and build some confidence. Mark has continued to support us even now that we are back up in Albuquerque. It was a great decision and I highly recommend Heartland Ranch!

Such a wonderful experience for my baby boy. Mark was so nice and made Leo feel very comfortable from the moment he was boarded. My heart was broken to leave my dog and Mark made sure to daily send me pics and videos of how he was doing. I will be a life time customer of Heartland Ranch. Excellent! Our rescue pup had a lovely time for his first ever boarding experience. Puppy had a grand holiday and we were reassured of his comfort and safety entirely, with regular videos sent to us of his adventures. This place is clean and comfy. It is not your typical boarding facility with concrete runs and guillotine doors to the outside. The dogs have a comfortable "suite" or large crates in the owner's home. When my two- J and J - came home they were either sad to be home or exhausted!!???? Mark returned my text's every night (it was my first time leaving them) reassuring me that they were doing fine!! He sent video's as well. I Highly recommend Heartland!

When you drop off your pets here there is no worries. They keep you informed and updated on your little ones active day. Our Doberman always has a great time and is treated like family.I very seldom review anyone but because of the outstanding care given I am compelled to do so here. Thanks very much Harold and Jane

Great place to take your pups! We did a visit to tour and could tell they put care and genuine love into their work. They sent videos and we could tell our 3 pups were having a good time. I love Heartland Ranch. The people are so caring and kept me updated on what my fur baby was up to. They made me feel very comfortable knowing my baby was in good hands. When I picked him up, he was a completely different dog, in the best way possible. This is now my go to place to leave my dog for boarding because I know he enjoys his stay. Highly recommend Heartland Ranch. The accommodations are precious and the play area is huge w lots of play equipment for the dogs. Owners are genuinely nice and their love for animals really shows. They make homemade snacks for their guests!! They sent a video of our baby playing and sent messages to let us know how he was doing. This will definitely be our choice for boarding Oliver when we go out of town again. Knowing your dog is having a good time w people that care is so comforting to a dog mama. Thank you!!!

Mark and Elana have a wonderful place out at Heartland Ranch USA. Our dog Harrison really loved it there and my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing he was in good care. It was immediately obvious that Mark and Elana are caring professional dog keepers. We will definitely be taking Harrison back for future stays!

We loved it and so did our fur babies!!!!! Very nice atmosphere and very friendly people!!! I love that they have turf and lots of shade. We had them go there overnight for a few nights during holidays and didn’t worry much because we felt they were in good hands!!! We definitely will be taking them there again even for maybe just a day playtime!!!! Really recommend them!!!

Heartland is absolutely the best for our dog, Ocean (a 62lb. American Staffordshire Mix). He has attended doggy camp and boarded for almost a week. Having Ocean board there put our mind at ease. We even received a “Doggy Report Card” when we picked him up. My kids loved it. So far we love everything about Heartland-the location, the boarding, the play areas for the dogs, the interaction with our dog, the communication with us, and the cleanliness.

It hasn’t been long since I was made aware of Heartland Ranch. My two dogs were there over the holidays and will soon attend training classes with Mark. I recently boarded my puppy at Heartland Ranch and it was a fantastic experience. More than I imagined. Very safe and fun for our puppy.
Mark did a great job with him, our puppy certainly seemed very happy there. It seemed also like a safe way to socialize him a bit in a very safe setting with other dogs. The ranch has plenty of room for the puppy to play safely.
The place is amazing, and Mark was very communicative and updated us regularly with photos of videos of our dog. It's a unique place for 'boarding' and will absolutely be our go-to when we need a place for our pup when out of town. Pricing is also excellent. Can't recommend highly enough.
